General Policies
Sign Up Policy
Students must sign up via Momence, our scheduling website and app, in advance of all classes and instruction. All reservations are held until the listed start time of class. All class purchases are non-transferable to another date or person.
Class Cancellation Policy
Instructors reserve the right to cancel any class section with 2 or fewer students by 10 AM of the same day for evening classes, or 8am of the same day for morning and afternoon classes.
If your class is cancelled, you will be notified via email. Please make sure an email you check regularly is listed in your Momence account.
Client Cancellation and No-Show Fees
Because DG's classes have a very limited capacity, late cancelling and no-shows adversely affect other students and prevent them from taking classes. Late cancellations and no-shows are highly discouraged and carry the following fees:
Late Cancellation: Loss of 1 class pass occurs when Client cancels on Momence less than six hours before class start time.
No-Show: Loss of 1 class pass occurs when Client does not cancel a reservation on Momence by the listed start time.
If Client cancels on Momence more than six hours before class start time, there is no penalty. The pass will be returned to your account for use in another class.
Repeated no-shows may limit eligibility for future purchases of drop-in passes.
Attire Policy
Students should wear appropriate workout attire for all classes: a sports bra or tight-fitting shirt and shorts for pole, leggings or tights for aerial arts. Stylistic classes may have different clothing recommendations.
For safety reasons, no jewelry is allowed. Please do not use lotion on the day of class as this will cause you to slip.
Late Arrival Policy
We ask that all students arrive to class 5 minutes early. If it's your first time, plan extra time. Lincoln Square Mall can be difficult to navigate.
We do not allow students to take class if they arrive more than 10 minutes past the listed start time. Students will have missed most of the warmup and it would be unsafe to allow them to participate.
Safety Policy
Pole fitness and aerial arts are physically and mentally demanding, and many classes have minimum fitness requirements. You should be in good physical condition to take classes with these fitness requirements. Defy Gravity reserves the right to require a written permission from your doctor if deemed necessary by instructors, especially in cases of injury.
Participation Policy
All students must sign consent waivers before the first class. Waivers are connected to student Momence accounts and can be signed online.
Defy Gravity instructors have full discretion to ask students to observe classes or excuse students from classes whose behavior they deem disruptive or unsafe for any reason. If necessary, the student will not be allowed to continue taking classes at Defy Gravity.
Payment Policy
Defy Gravity prefers pre-payment online through Momence. In rare circumstances and with prior communication, instructors can take payment at the studio; however, clients must bring a valid credit or debit card or exact cash, as no change is kept on the premises.
We reserve the right to charge a $30 code misuse fee to any client misusing a discount code. If you are in need of financial assistance to attend Defy Gravity classes, email contactus@defygravitycu.com and ask about our Community Care fund.
Refund and Expiration Policy
All Defy Gravity class purchases expire 90 days after the date of package or class purchase. All purchases (including but not limited to: classes, workshops, apparel, private lessons etc.) are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
Private Lesson Policy
All private lesson payments are nonrefundable and must be paid prior to scheduling. If you give 24-hour prior notice, you may transfer your private lesson to a new date without penalty. Arriving more than 15 minutes past the start of a private lesson without prior communication counts as a no show.
Party Scheduling Policy
All parties must be paid in full one week prior to the date of event. Official reservations require a non-refundable deposit to hold date and time.
All payments are nonrefundable. Party reservations may be moved only once and require a minimum of one week of notice. If a party is cancelled within one week, the client is still responsible for the remaining balance of the party.
Availability Policy
All classes and instructors are subject to availability. We do our best to accommodate schedules, but please note that instructors may substitute for some classes. We add and remove classes based on interest and enrollment.
